When I was a kid, my parents worked in a traveling carnival. I spent my summers away from home, mostly on Cape Cod. Each September at the start of school, it was like being the new kid all over again.

(Can you tell how much I loved it?)

Books were my safe space and best friends. I loved THE PHANTOM TOLLBOOTH by Norton Juster and THE CRICKET IN TIMES SQUARE by George Seldon.

After graduating from college I worked as a textbook editor in New York City. When my son was born we moved back to my hometown in New Hampshire and I wrote picture books.

But life got in the way and I stopped writing for a long time. Recently, I started writing books for older kids. DON’T FRET FRIDA is my first novel.

I’m excited for you to read it and share your thoughts with me.
